Dormant Company Accounts in Slough

A dormant company still has two filings due every year at Companies House: dormant accounts using form AA02, and a separate confirmation statement, now £50 online since February 2026. Neither obligation disappears just because the company has not traded, and the same automatic penalties apply as they would to an active company.

We file both on time for dormant Slough companies, whether the company is holding a name for future use, sitting inactive between projects, or was set up as a property SPV not yet trading.

  • AA02 dormant accounts filing
  • Annual confirmation statement filing
  • Dormancy status confirmation with HMRC
  • Reactivation support when trading begins

Why This Matters: Dormant Does Not Mean No Obligations

Directors often assume a dormant company has nothing to file, since there is no trading activity to report. Companies House disagrees. The same late filing penalty, starting at £150, applies to a dormant company exactly as it would to a fully active one, and persistent non-filing can lead to the company being struck off. This is exactly why a dormant company still needs a filing routine, even with no accounts to speak of. We track your filing dates every year, whether the company is trading or not.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a dormant company need to file a Corporation Tax return?

Not if HMRC has been notified the company is dormant. Companies House filings, the AA02 and confirmation statement, are still required regardless.

What happens if I miss the dormant accounts deadline?

The same automatic penalty applies as for an active company, starting at £150 and rising the later you file.

Can a dormant company pay any bills at all?

Very few. Paying the confirmation statement fee or a filing penalty is permitted, but paying an accountant or any supplier normally breaks dormancy.

What if my company traded previously but is dormant now?

You cannot use the simplified AA02 form in that case. A different dormant accounts format is needed, carrying forward the prior year’s figures.
